CITY TOUR DETAILS


TITLE TOUR (A - full day 1 + 2) :
Tour 1 + 2 with lunch
A full day combination of Tour 1 - Monumental Rome and Tour 2 - Ancient Rome, with lunch including drinks.
Assistance will be provided by tour-staff

Daily, 6 days per week except Sundays & Catholic holidays. *Free pickup at your Hotel from 8:15 to 8:45 AM approx. Free return to Hotel or nearest location.

DESCRIPTION:
Tour 1 :
The tour begins by traveling down Via Veneto, famous for Fellini?s ?Dolce Vita? movie. We then cross Piazza della Repubblica with its majestic Najadi?s Fountain, on to Via Nazionale and then begin our walk in Rome?s historical center . We first visit the Trevi Fountain (throw 3 coins in and you?ll return to Rome) and on to Piazza Navona, located in the ancient Domitian Stadium, for a short stop. Here you will view Bernini?s Masterpiece: the Four Rivers Fountain. Along the way, you will also be able to admire Piazza Colonna, named after the Column of Marcus Aurelius. You will also see Montecitorio, the seat of the Italian Chamber of Deputies and internally visit Emperor Hadrian?s Pantheon, built in the first century A.D. Next you will continue by deluxe motor coach to St. Peter?s Square, passing by Saint Angel?s Castle. You will visit the awesome Basilica of St. Peter, and be able to see Michelangelo?s Pieta? Statue. Return to hotel, nearest point or SOS Rome Center.
Tour 2 :
The tour begins by traveling down Piazza della Repubblica, to Piazza Venezia where you will view the Victor Emmanuel Monument, the largest building in Rome.. We continue by bus to see the Colosseum (exterior visit only) and the surrounding Arches of Constantine & Titus. Next, its a walking tour of the Ancient Roman forum, considered the most important archeological area in the world, and also possibly Capitol Square. We then proceed onward to the Theater of Marcellus, followed by a bus ride and visit to the Basilica of St. Paul?s Outside the Walls , built where St. Paul, the ?Apostle of the people? is buried. Return to the hotel or nearest point.
