Passing by Piazza Barberini with its famous Triton Fountain by Bernini, we reach St. Mary Major (visit), the most beautiful Basilica dedicated to Mary, the Mother of Christ with gorgeous mosaics and Relics of the Jesus Cradle. Our deluxe motor coach takes us on to St. John?s in Lateran (visit), the Cathedral of Rome and first papal residence with masterpieces from the Middle Ages to Baroque. We stop at the Church of the Holy Stairs and then take you to the first part of the Appian Way with a view of the Domine Quo Vadis Chapel and reach the Catacombs (Domitilla or St. Callixtus), the ancient underground tunnels, first burial places for Christians and Hebrews. The tour ends with a panoramic view of the Ancient Roman Baths of Caracalla. Return to hotel, nearest point or SOS Rome Center. |
