This pleasant trip on a deluxe climate controlled motorcoach, to discover the surroundings of Rome with the old medieval hilltop towns and vulcanic lakes, will give you the opportunity to relax for a few hours outside the city traffic. Driving along the Caracalla Baths and Appian Way we reach Castelgandolfo, summer residence of the Pope, overlooking one of the deepest vulcanic lakes in Europe. We continue to Albano, former Albalonga, where the founders of Rome came from. Then on to Ariccia, with its breathtaking bridge, Genzano, reputed for its annual flower festival, & Nemi, the town of wild strawberries, overlooking the enchanted lake "Mirror of the Goddess Diana". Along the Via dei Laghi, it?s on to Rocca di Papa, Grottaferrata & Frascati where we will sit down to taste its delicious wine. Return to hotels or nearest point. |
