DESCRIPTION:
Leaving Rome, along the Autostrada del Sole we pass the Medieval Hillside of Orte, Spoleto and reach Orvieto to visit its beautiful cathedral. Next we proceed to the Clituno Springs, Trevi, Foligno and
Spello, to arrive at Assisi, where you will visit the Chruch of Santa Chiara, where St. Francis was born. Walking through the narrow streets, you will reach Piazza del Comune with the Palazzzo dei Priori, the Palazzo del Popolo and the Temple of Minerva. You will then continue to the Basilica of St. Francis to view the masterpieces of Giotto & Cimabue. After lunch in a local restaurant, free time. Continue by bus to the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, the place where St. Francis lived and died, with visit to the Porziuncola Chapel. Proceed to Rome with arrival at your hotel or nearest point at approximately 7:00 pm.
